Banken Champignons rises 19 places in top 100

On 4 November 2022, the Hillenraad 100 was announced at the Art Museum in The Hague. This is the list of the 100 leading companies in Dutch horticulture selected from 10,000 companies . In the previous edition, Banken Champignons came in at number 100. In 2022, the company rose 19 places to place 81. The companies in the Hillenraad 100 distinguish themselves on strategy, growth potential, innovativeness, organisation, sustainability and corporate performance. The jury report: “The family business is a chain company involved in every link of that chain: from growing, harvesting and processing to packaging, distributing and selling fresh mushrooms worldwide. And mushrooms are hip. They are excellent vega food to get the protein you need. And anything with “mycelium” in it is currently being attributed great health properties. In 65 years, Banken Champignons has built a good reputation. There stands a strong company of which founder Henk Banken, who died in early 2021, would be justifiably proud.” The strategic focus of the second generation of the family business, Jurgen and Rob Banken, is on growth through acquisitions in the chain and dedicated cooperation with customers and suppliers.
